“From here to Infinity”
by Luka Kurashvili

Opening reception:
Friday September 15th, 5-8 pm
Exhibition dates:
September 15th - October 14th, 2017

Ten Haaf Projects is pleased to announce “From here to Infinity”, a solo show by Luka Kurashvili. Kurashvili is an artist whose dreams and subconsciousness are of great influence in his work. While he works in a figurative manner, symbols and methaphores are often depicted. Largely painting with oil on canvas, Kurashvili gives the viewer a window to his world where place and time do not exist. Magical landscapes and strange figures are entangled in his colourful and expressive canvases.
Often using photographs he takes and images he finds in printed press as a starting point, Kurashvili then produces a study on a small canvas before translating it onto large canvas. On show will be these small and large canvases he created in 2017.

The title refers to the infinity of everything, from the world we live in to a decision and its infinite consequence. While Kurashvili’s work is figurative, it is not narrative. He wants the viewer to create his or her own story from his images. Kurashvili simply creates a silhouette.
