Ten Haaf Projects is proud to present “Made in Hollywood,” the gallery's second solo exhibition by Luka Kurashvili.

Luka Kurashvili is to show his series of paintings portraying the contemporary actors and actresses of Hollywood. Resulting from inspiration by modern times and Hollywood stars, the portraits draw interest to that traditional fashion displayed on the red carpet, as well as the aesthetic effect of celebrity.

Kurashvili's works contain hints of irony and humor, while also evoking the feeling of a serious atmosphere. Based on photographs found through Google Images, they express personal imagination, sometimes with elements of fantasy, but the idea and concept belong to the contemporary world, as the works distinctly relate to history, art history and pop culture.

Also pursuing the medium of film making, Luka Kurashvili constantly observes acting characteristics of Hollywood entertainers. His work is influenced by various artists, ranging from Sandro Botticelli and Rembrandt van Rijn to Gustav Klimt and 20th century American Pop-Artists such as Andy Warhol and Tom Wesselmann, as well as by exhibits at Madame Tussauds wax museum.
